Dear Friends, Supporters, and Volunteers,
Sally Kate Winters Family Services (SKWFS) has experienced an incredible year of growth and impact. Alongside our dedicated donors, volunteers, and collaborative partners, we have had the privilege of offering an improved quality of life to 73 children with 3,004 nights of service, 8,760 meals served through our Residential Services and 316 children through the Children’s Advocacy Center programs.
Every face we see, every smile we witness, and even the tears we help dry were met with a compassionate response from our team. Together, we have celebrated significant milestones: high school graduations, first-time jobs, birthdays, and many other "firsts."
Because of your support, children leave our programs with much more than they had when they arrived. They depart with increased self-worth, a sense of personal empowerment, lasting connections to caring adults, and the life skills necessary for an improved sense of well-being.
The Power of Resiliency
At the heart of our work is a commitment to providing children and families with the tools to build their own personal resiliency. Resiliency is the ability to overcome life’s greatest challenges—trauma, tragedy, and personal crisis—and emerge stronger, wiser, and more determined to seek positive change.
We believe resiliency is a skill that can be nurtured. Through our trauma-informed services and healthy support systems, we provide the resources children need to thrive despite the obstacles they have faced. This emotional well-being is the most vital outcome of the care we provide.
Looking Ahead
As we look to begin our 35th year of service, we remain steadfast in our mission to empower children and youth to seek and experience an improved quality of life. This mission is only possible through the generosity of our community.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment to our efforts. Together, we will continue to build resiliency within the character of every child in crisis.
With gratitude,
Cindy Tucker
