Why Give to Our Endowment?

Sally Kate Winters Family Services has established its endowment so that we can sustain our critical work with children in need. Your generosity and the act of planned giving will help to ensure our work continues for years to come. You can make a significant contribution to further our mission, and it is easier than you may think.

ENDOWMENT FYI. An established endowment keeps its principal intact and only the annual earnings - typically, income and a portion of the capital growth - are used to fund current needs.

WE CAN HELP

Our organization dedicates its efforts to providing the best, conceivable care for each child that crosses into our safeguarded care. That elevated promise and committed vision requires tremendous resources. As we continue to grow and feel the unbelievable impact of our work, the need for certain financial security is extraordinarily evident.

This endowment - teamed with your gift and fidelity - will allow the memory of Sally Kate Winters and her compassionate spirit to live on.

Bequests:

A bequest is one of the easiest gifts you can make to sustain an endowment. It is a trusted avenue in estate planning, with the most familiar type of bequests being gifts made through a provision in a will or trust. You can make a bequest of a dollar amount, specific asset or a percentage of your estate.

BENEFICIARY DESIGNATIONS

Beyond conventionally-denoted bequests through your will or trust, you can employ a beneficiary designation to endow our work. It is typically easier to make a gift by completing a beneficiary designation form provided by your account administrator than it is to visit your attorney and update your will. Besides the convenience and ease, the benefits are plentiful:

AVOID PROBATE: The assets you give away will not go through the costly and time-consuming probate process.

TAX SAVINGS: If you have taxable estate, your estate will receive a charitable deduction, saving estate taxes.

CHANGE YOUR MIND: Beneficiary designations are revocable and can be modified at any time.

EASE & CONVENIENCE: Complete the form provided by your account administrator.

CHARITABLE LIFE ESTATES

Your home could help the children inside our home. Your residence, vacation property or land is another versatile option in growing our endowment. With a charitable life estate, you can make your gift to us today and continue to enjoy the property during your lifetime. Once you have deeded the property to Sally Kate Winters Family Services, you become entitled to a charitable income tax deduction and the property is removed from your estate. In the future, upon your completed use of the property, our organization can sell or make use of the property for our mission.

CHARITABLE LIFE INCOME PLANS

Charitable life income plans such as gift annuity and charitable remainder trust enable you to make a future gift to endow our work while protecting or enhancing your current financial security. Benefits include:

  • Receive lifetime payments (for you and your spouse).
  • Generate a current income tax deduction.
  • Bypass all or a portion of the capital gains on appreciated assets.
  • Make a future gift upon your passing to endow our work.
