2025 QUARTER 1 DIRECTOR MESSAGE

As we bid farewell to Winter and welcome the promise of Spring, Sally Kate Winters Family Services reflects on a dynamic and productive start to 2025. I wanted to highlight some of the ways our agency has been impacted by our community and how our staff continue to make an impact on the community as well. We are immensely grateful for your continued support and contributions, which make our work possible.

The year began with a wonderful opportunity to connect with our community's law enforcement at our A.M. Social with a Cop. We extend our sincere thanks to the West Point Police Department for their participation and for fostering stronger ties with those we serve.

We also received a generous $10,000 donation from Bruff with Bank of Commerce of West Point and a $75,000 donation from Tim O’Brien with Renasant Bank of West Point through the Children’s Promise Tax Credit Act. This vital program, which provides dollar-for-dollar tax credits to individuals and companies who give to qualified charities like ours, makes a significant difference in our ability to serve vulnerable children and families. (Please visit our website to learn more about how you can participate in the Children's Promise Act.)

In February, our TLP staff participated in Love 146 Human Trafficking Prevention Presentations, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to protecting youth in our community.

March brought National Safe Place Week, during which we were proud to nominate Columbus YMCA as our Safe Place Site of the Year, recognizing their dedication to providing safe havens for young people in crisis. We also extend a warm welcome to our new volunteers from Yokohama Tire, who generously contributed their time and energy to enhance the landscape at our Transitional Living Program houses.

These are just a few highlights of the work we've been doing at Sally Kate Winters Family Services. As we kickoff April 2025, nationally recognized as Child Abuse Prevention Month, we are committed to our mission to empower children and families to seek and experience an improved quality of life. We look forward to continuing to serve our community and appreciate your continued support.

With Appreciation,

Cindy Tucker
